On Thursday,26th April, paid tribute to Bl. Mariam Thresia on her birth anniversary with a special assembly. Students of Yellow House felt highly privileged to present the morning assembly with their graceful performances on Bl. Mariam Thresia. The assembly started with morning prayers followed by thought and a speech that were dedicated to Bl. Mariam Thresia. The school choir lent a festive melody to the celebration as they sang a group song, singing their hearts out to the spirit of Bl. Mariam Thresia. Her life history and works of mercy was highlighted in a mesmerizing dance performance to pay a kind tribute to her endless charitable services towards the society. The assembly concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
Blessed Mariam Thresia, born on 26th April 1876 in Kerala, is the foundress of the Congregation of Holy Family. At a time, when women were suppressed by the dominating society, she broke the shackles of confinement and progressed in her mission of unconditional service. Her heroic venture of building up families paved the way for a stronger society. Her conviction, grit and determination enabled her to overlook oppositions and to forge ahead in building up ideal families. She built up the congregation with spiritual wealth of prayer, penance, piety and charity. On 8th June 1926, she left for her heavenly abode. Her sanctity was recognized by the church and Pope John Paul II declared her Blessed on 9th April 2000.
The miraculous healing of the little Christopher is seen as step to further the proceedings to lead Bl. Mariam Thresia to sainthood. An expert team in Vatican has duly approved the miracle.
